The Swamp Deer (Rucervus duvaucelii), also known as the Barasingha, is a large deer species found in marshy grasslands of India.
Males have impressive antlers with many tines, often resembling twelve or more points.
They prefer wetlands and tall grass habitats near water bodies.
Swamp deer play an important role in maintaining the health of grassland ecosystems.
